We presented the second check of the year to the "Papas" at our 4th annual celebration of Hemingway's life in Key West, Florida. All the contributors' names and home towns were also presented to "Papa" Bill Young, chairman of the society. Several of the Papas" who have won over the years are show here as they evaluated 140+ entries for the "Look-alike" competition. They narrowed the field to 24 finalists, and on Saturday night they announced the winner for 2004: John Stubbings, from Kill Devil, North Carolina. (John had entered the contest for the past 8 years!)

This year's competition included entries from as far away as Ireland, Kazakhstan, and Budapest, Hungary.

The competition will be revised for 2005, and will be open to ALL big game fishermen worldwide. All of the guidelines and entry forms are available now, and the competition will begin January 1, 2005. All entries are good for the entire calendar year, and a new competition will start every New Year.

We also accept any and all donations to the fund. Scholarships are presented to college students who are aspiring writers, or who are entering the Nursing profession.

In 2004, a total of 9 scholarships were awarded by the Society at the Look Alike finals.
