Shortages of live bait and hordes of non-hungry Marlin seemed to be the theme of this last spring/summer event.

Anglers reported seeing and trying to bait from 15 to 35 Marlin a day. There were also lots of sightings made of 5 or 6 Marlin in small groups. This would suggest that a breeding thing is happening- something that usually happens every spring in April or early May.

The water temps continued to be cool for the large part and there was a shortage of Dorado and Tuna.

33 Anglers
  • 29 Marlin
  • 4 Tuna
  • 7 Dorado
  • 2 Mako Sharks
**** TWO MAKOS IN ONE TRIP! ****

For the first time in an event 2 Mako Sharks were taken. David Gallego's 85 pounder was taken on the off day, or it would have captured top non-bill honors. Instead, Milton Vose's 55 lb. fish ended up the top non bill.
