The stripe marlin picked up where they left off last spring. 23 anglers fished on a total of 21 cruisers over the three day event.

Only one bill fish did not survive the struggle.

TOP NON BILL

This 85 lb. Mako Shark, caught by Jason Jantz, of Portland, OR, took TOP NON-BILL honors despite the fact that three of the Dorado were over 50 lbs, including a 55 lb bull caught by Terry Davis of Stockton, CA on the same day as the Mako.

took Day # 2 honors with a 51 lb Dorado.

All of the awards were presented by Denise Johnson, of Portland, OR, and the ceremonies were hosted by Jim Wilmarth,
Los Battiles, Baja, Sur. Jim, who is not shown, was the very first Top Angler in a Fish With me event, way back in 1983.


TOP ANGLER/TOP ROOKIE

Both honors went to Greg Combs, Las Vegas, NV.
8 out of 9 rookies were successful catching their first billfish.
Greg caught and released 5 Marlin and 2 Sailfish. He and son, Sean, with team mate, 2004 Hemingway non-bill winner, Sherrie Hermann, also of Las Vegas took 2nd Place Team awards and cash.



2 NEW FISH WITH ME RECORDS!

Sean Combs also set 2 new fish With me records as he became the youngest angler ever to catch a billfish at age 10, AND his sailfish was wearing a tag. This is the first tagged fish ever caught by one of our anglers. Sean is mailing in the tag.

TOP TEAM

Top Team awards and cash went to Brian Bracelin and Jason Jantz, both from Portland, OR.
     
3rd PLACE ANGLER & 3rd PLACE TEAM

Rookie angler Gregg Icenogle, of Scappoose, OR, (left),
took 3rd Place Angler, and with the help of team mate
John Kaeser of Seabeck, WA, they were also the
3rd Place Team.








Gregg also took
this 51 lb beauty
on the off day.

as the anglers proceded to acquire some "sore arms"!
    
The pool attenders DID promise to enter the first WOMEN'S TEAM next year!


Every angler got to see similar sights to this they subdued their fish!


A great time was had by all and the weather was perfect!
