Fortunately, the winds subsided that first evening and Day 2 was better, producing 2 Marlin, 2 Sailfish, and 4 Dorado.
Jeff Warila and Denise Johnson, both from Vancouver, Washington spent 5½ hours on a Yellowfin Tuna,which they hooked on a 20 lb test.It was estimated to be a 200 lb. class fish, but finally broke off near the boat. |
Three other Marlin and a couple of Dorado were also lost on Day 2.

These two were also the Top Team for the tournament.
Denise Johnson caught the only fish on Day 1, an 18 lb Dorado, which took the day money. For the first time in Fish With Me history, we did not declare a Top Rookie ans none of the 4 rookies were able to catch a fish. The only good news for them is they will still be in Rookie competition next year!
